peppercookies new website

My agent in London has changed their website design and content and it looks fab! I really like the layout.

Do take a look if you have the time>>>>

Here you can also read interviews with the artists and browse their work. Here's a peek at my profile on their site:

That is all for now! I hope you are enjoying the December days. Here in Scandinavia it is really dark these days. The sun is gone around 4 pm... but then you can light a candle and snuggle up under a blanket with a cup of tea - so that's not too bad.

Soft Gallery Collaboration

I am so proud to be collaborating with the super cool Danish kids fashion brand Soft Gallery. I have been working with them for about two years on and off, and they always create such inspirational mood boards and colorways that it is impossible not to be excited whenever I start a new illustration for one of their collections.

Of course I can not share what I am working on right now, but here is a couple of pics from instagram with my work on them.

Have a nice day, and I hope I will be able to post more often than I have the last couple of months, but it seems there are so many platforms to show your presence on, so sometimes it is hard to keep up! Running running running...

exhibition and auction in Tbilisi

The New Nordic Fashion Illustration vol. 2 exhibition is set up in Tbilisi during the Georgian fashion week. The Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art will host the exhibition. Each of the participating artists will have a couple of prints in the show and the artwork will be auctioned off after the expo is finished. The funds will go to local NGOs. I am not sure which of my prints will be available for purchase (as others are arranging the set up), but I am glad my work will support a good cause. Read about in Georgia Today. And if you are in the area you should go check out the art!

flower bomb

I should be drawing something from the New York fashion week, I feel like it, but I am tied up in commissions. So I will share more promo-work that I created last week. It is an "old" perfume, but I really like its shape and the associations you get from the name "flower bomb". Also the two guys Victor & Rolf are some of my favourite designers. So here I am bombing you with a fragrance illustration. There will be more to come...

I will be printing new work for my portfolio this coming week, as I will be going to Berlin next Friday to show my book at the UPDATE15 salon. It is really exciting! I have bought a new folio for the occasion and lots of new matte A3 printing paper. Some new pencils and ink also snug its way into the basket, but it feels so good to have new materials to work with. It can really set some fire to the creativity!

more birds

I have yet another bird and flower artwork for you today. This is another promotional piece for my portfolio.

I hope you will be flying through the day.

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

I am working on some new material for my portfolio these days. Lately I have been drawing birds and other nature elements. Not that the flowers I draw are exact copies of actual flowers, but nature seems to be of endless inspiration to me, and many other artists through time. I like looking at nature and how a leaf bends and these sorts of things and then translate it to my own visual language. Numerous silhouettes, palettes, textures and patterns are to be found in nature too. Beauty without limit!

I am considering making this as a print available for purchase through my web shop (which have not really been updated in a very long time..).

I will also upload all new work to my website;

Have a lovely day!

new nordic fashion illustration expo Tallinn Estonia

Hello you peeps!
I hope you are soaking up the sun these days - I know I am enjoying every last ray of the sun before it turns colder and autumn moves in on us! Every season has its charm, but for now I am just in love with the warm weather we are having here in Denmark.

Now that a few months have passed since the opening of the fashion illustration expo in Tallinn, I will finally post some photos from the event. The quality of the photos are not the best, but they will give you an idea about the scene and the works exhibited there. The show runs until late September, at The Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, so if you are in the area you can still catch it before it closes.

I know that it is kind of hard to see but the quality of the works exhibited there is really top notch and so inspirational to look at. I am very happy that I got to see this compilation of works from such talented artists.

"Turquoise" graphite, watercolour, glitter glue, digital colouring (print), "Hands" graphite, watercolour, coloured pencils, digital colouring (print), "Bunnies" graphite, watercolour, pen, coloured pencils, marker (original size A2).

"Poetic" graphite, color pencils, watercolour and digital colouring (print), "Triangular" graphite, ink, watercolor, enamel on paper (original) both size A1.

"Prey" graphite, ink, acrylic paint, enamel, marker, colored pencils, glitter, pen on paper (original size A1)

"Somnia" graphite on paper (original size A1)

"Float" graphite, colored pencils, watercolour, marker on paper (original size A1)

"Plissé" graphite and marker on paper (original), "Float" and "Somnia"

Working in only black&white is really new to me and I loved doing these very detailed pieces. Having more actual background in the work do help "tell the story". They are different from what I usually do, but I kind of liked doing something unexpected for this expo.

At the opening...

From the left; Danish illustrators Naja Conrad Hansen, Lisa Grue and me.
I think next stop will be at the Fashion Week in Tbilisi, capitol of Georgia, in October. Here one work (print)  from each artist will be exhibited and go on auction to raise money for local charities. This is a really nice initiative, that I am glad to support.

interview with Fused Magazine UK

This feature is from December last year, but I just recalled making this interview so thought I might as well share it with you.

I made this interview with Fused last June and it seems like ages ago... but here goes >>>

Fused Magazine interview

Thanks Fused for making this feature about me and my work!

the scene / soft gallery collaboration AW 2015

Once more I have collaborated with Soft Gallery, danish kids wear brand, who specialise in collaborations with artists and illustrators from all over the world. So if you are looking for printed garments for your kid (or yourself - they also have a small line for grown-ups!) you should definitely check out their collections. Their items are beautifully made and of excellent (and soft) quality.

The collection is called The Scene and here is a description of what inspired this collection:
"The streets are yours to live and flourish in. Be brave and be curious. Make new discoveries. Express yourself and inspire those around you. "The Scene" is your street and the street is your road. Embrace it!
The AW 2015 collection is all about living with your eyes wide open. It's about engaging in life. About seeing, feeling and living it all." "Be free. Be true. Be you"

Inspired by the words from the Soft Gallery team, I created several prints for both boy and girl items and enjoyed it immensely. I thought about the animals living in the city, like pets and wild birds which have grown almost tame because they live among humans. The dogs are treated almost like people and often adopt the same personality as their owner. The city dogs live most of their life walking in the city streets. Streetwise dogs.

new website

Hellooo. Good days are upon us - sun is shining and summer is in the air! I love how everything is blossoming right now, which makes for a perfect setting for doing some drawing and painting "en plain aire". I will be doing that next. Right now I want to share my new website with you. It is finally up and running and I am so glad that the controls are simple and that it is so easy to navigate and upload new images to.

The address is the same as before: so pay it a visit if you have the time.

I feel good things are coming my way and I feel so ready for them.

I have a new project starting up in Paris which I will share more about at a later point, exciting new collabs are emerging, and the opening of the show in Tallinn is over and everything is good.
Speaking of which: I had such a lovely time in Tallinn. It was only for the duration of 24 hours, but I enjoyed every minute of it. It was so great to meet the other illustrators from the northern countries; chatting about our very specialised little corner of the fashion and lifestyle industry. Also what keeps one motivated, which obstacles or fun experiences we have had along the way. All in all a very giving 24 hours in Estonia. And what a great show! So much great work from about 25 fashion illustrators. I will make a post about the exhibition at a later point.

"Bunnies" (graphite, watercolour, pen, acrylic paint on paper) - on show at New Nordic Fashion Illustration vol. 2.

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

I have not checked in here for a while. To be honest I feel there are so many places to make yourself be seen and heard these days and I actually have a hard time keeping track! Almost everybody has an online presence now and we all speak with our own voice but sometimes I feel that all the voices are drowning each other out...

Anyway - I do have something I want to announce.

For the past months I have been working on new artwork for an upcoming exhibition in Tallin, Estonia. I have already announced this on my Instagram profile, but I thought I might as well also let you know through the blog.
The show is called NEW NORDIC FASHION ILLUSTRATION vol 2 and opens May 22nd and runs through September 27th. The exhibition is curated by well known fashion editor and photographer Toomas Volkmann.

About 20 illustrators from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Estonia is to take part in the exhibition. Among the other artists are Stina Persson, Cecilia Carlstedt, Liselotte Watkins, Laura Laine, Daniel Egneus and Esra Roise.

I am very proud to have been invited to parttake in this exhibition and I can not wait to go to Tallin for the opening and meet all the other illustrators. Thanks to the Danish Art Foundation for taking care of the expenses for my stay in Tallin.

Many of the exhibiting artists are people whose work I have admired through my own career and I am both terrified and thrilled that my work will be hanging on the same walls as theirs.
But I have a good gut-feeling about this and I bet it is going to be a great experience.

(Also I have to leave my kids behind which also scares me a bit. I have not ever been farther away than a cardrive, so leaving on a plane for another country feels.... challenging!)

My work was chosen for an outdoor banner which was made as an ad for the exhibition.

I will keep you in the loop about everything and also post more pictures along the way.

See my exhibition profile description here.

That is all for now - back to the drawing board!

soft gallery cooperation

Soft Gallery is the name of a wonderful kids clothing brand which specialise in offering kids (and their mamas) the coolest outfits. They bring in new artists for every collection to adorn their apparel with their artwork. For their latest collection I had the honor of submitting a print for a boys t-shirt and a pillowcase. You have probably already seen the artwork if you are following this blog. It is the sailor monkey as seen below which fitted their travel-theme for the current collection.

I think I may have to get this shirt for my son, Klint, who turned 5 years old last Friday!

I am a big fan of Soft Gallerys concept of cooperating with artists to help bring that personal touch to the collections combined with also designing fashionable, wearable clothes, made in high quality materials. And to top it all off; they also support a good cause by donating a percentage of their sales to a childcare center in South India. They have got it right!

Anyways take a look at their website HERE to discover great loveliness.
