private portrait commission

It's been so very long since my last blog post, I can't believe it!

You have probably already noticed that I changed the look and design of my blog. I felt it was time for change, so I hope you like it.

I have been lucky enough to have been working on a couple of very nice projects, which I will be sharing with you in the coming blog posts.

Anyways - today I will share with you a private commission that I had for a portrait of a young girl named Chili. This was commissioned by her mother; such a sweet, honest and accommodating person, who had stumbled upon my blog and had fell in love with my work.

Chilis mum told me that her girl liked butterflies, dragonflies and birds and since she have such an unusual name it was obvious that I needed to but some chili flowers and chili in the portrait as well. I put two butterflies and a ladybug and initially also added a dragonfly but then the drawing started to get a bit crowded with insects, so I erased the dragonfly and added the dog in her hand which is their family dog.

I think one of the reasons why I loved working with this portrait is because it was of a kid. And because the main purpose was to express her personality. A happy, carefree one indeed.

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer up until now. In Denmark the weather has been incredibly warm. Resembling the childhood summers in my mind - long and sunny.
